Jammertest 2025
The event page for Jammertest 2025 is continuously updated.
Welcome to Jammertest 2025! For the fourth year in a row, this unique event is brought to you by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Norwegian Communications Authority, Norwegian Defense Research Establishment, Norwegian Metrology Service, Norwegian Space Agency, The Norwegian Mapping Authority and Avinor. Our trusted facilitator, Testnor, keeps the wheels turning smoothly.
GNSS signals — such as those used by GPS — are inherently unprotected and tend to accept any signal they receive as valid. This makes them particularly vulnerable to intentional interference, such as jamming (signal disruption) and spoofing (transmission of deceptive signals). That’s where we come in. Jammertest is where government and industry come together to test how systems behave under signal interference. The goal? Build more robust, secure, and smarter tech for the future. It’s like a stress test for satellites—minus the space travel!
This years event will take place between September 11th to September 19th. Location - Bleik and surrounding areas, Andøya, Norway
Warnings to locals and non-participants travelling in the area
Expect jamming and spoofing tests in the following areas:
- Bleik
- Around Grunnvatnet
- Stave to the Normelaveien/Oklveien junction
- Andenes Airport (Sept 18)
- At sea, near Bleiksøya (Sept 16–18)
Test hours are daily from 08:00 to 22:00 (local time)
During testing, you may experience GPS signal loss, incorrect positioning or timing, general satellite navigation weirdness. Don’t worry—it’s all part of the plan. The tests are approved by the Norwegian Communications Authority and aim to improve national resilience against signal interference.
